IMPORTANT INFORMATION! Due to unprecedented demand our last day for Christmas free range turkey orders will now be Saturday the 8th of December. We urge you to get your orders into the shop before this point as all our fresh free range turkeys are slaughtered to order and will be unavailable after this date.

To remind you, we have to take your orders in the shop so we can take a deposit and give you a collection slip.

Yes indeed, it’s nearly time to order your turkeys ready for Christmas. We will be taking turkey orders from the first of November. That’s 01/11/12 for those of a numerical nature. We would ask all of our customers to come into the shop to place your orders as we need to take a small deposit and give you a collection ticket. This is to make things so much easier when you collect your bird.

We will be selling turkeys from the same supplier we have proudly worked with for the last sixteen years. From Temple Farm in Essex these are fully free range, premier quality birds that are being fattened ready for Christmas as we speak. Norfolk Bronze and Norfolk White are traditional, slow growing breeds with more flavour and texture than your standard bird and will be perfect for that most special of occasions.

Of course, we don’t just talk turkey, should you prefer a goose, capon or fore-rib or beef, we can take your order whatever your preference.

Ok, so for most people the kids start back to school after the weekend. So what do you do? Have a big blow out barbeque or have a huge roast dinner? The weather seems like it won’t make your decision for you but luckily neither do you.

A beautiful leg of Monmouthshire salt marsh lamb could be either roasted with garlic and rosemary or butterflied and barbequed after a Moroccan style spice rub. A free range Norfolk chicken might have a crispy, golden skin with moist juicy meat in the oven or a delicious, chargrilled stickyness after being spatchcocked and cooked over some hot coals.

Whatever you want, whichever your preference, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help. Either way at least the kids will be back at school. Time to celebrate!
